Discover the versatility of ABC3D’s premium HIPS 3D printing pellets. We crafted this High Impact Polystyrene material for durability and ease of use. It excels both as a primary printing material and as a unique dissolvable support.
Lightweight Strength and Easy Processing
High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is known for its good balance of properties. For example, it’s lightweight yet offers good impact resistance. Furthermore, it’s relatively easy to process, making it suitable for both 3D printing and injection molding. Our HIPS 3D printing pellets deliver consistent results, whether you’re creating prototypes or functional parts.
The Ideal Dissolvable Support for ABS/ASA
One of the most valuable uses for HIPS 3D printing pellets is creating dissolvable support structures. HIPS shares similar printing temperatures with materials like ABS and ASA. However, HIPS dissolves completely in d-Limonene, while ABS and ASA remain unaffected. Therefore, you can print incredibly complex geometries with large overhangs. Afterward, simply soak the print in d-Limonene to remove the supports effortlessly. This leaves behind a clean, high-quality surface finish without any tool marks.
Cost-Effective and Versatile
Using pellets provides significant cost savings compared to filament, especially for large prints or when using HIPS primarily as support material. Additionally, pellets give you the flexibility to create your own custom filament or use them directly in large-format pellet extruders. For larger quantities, please contact us directly.
