That is why we are thrilled to announce a major upgrade to our quality assurance lab: the acquisition of a high-precision Universal Testing Machine (UTM). Therefore, this new technology allows us to validate our sustainable advanced materials, bridging the gap between eco-friendly chemistry and industrial-grade mechanical properties.

From Production to Validation

Dr. Ehsan Khoshbakhti, Director of Research & Development at ABC3D, spearheaded this initiative. In fact, adding this in-house characterization capability changes how we develop our products.

Previously, producing a Technical Data Sheet (TDS) required third-party testing. Now, we can validate every batch immediately. This equipment allows us to generate precise data for Tensile Strength, Flexural Modulus, and Elongation at Break, ensuring our materials meet the rigorous criteria of ASTM and ISO standards.

Meeting Strict ASTM and ISO Standards

For engineers designing electronics housings or automotive fixtures, data is king. Consequently, this equipment empowers our technicians to verify that our Carbon Nanotube (CNT) enhanced polymers perform exactly as specified.

Specifically, this technology facilitates testing against major standards like ASTM International benchmarks:

  • ASTM D638 / ISO 527: Validating Tensile properties (pulling strength).
  • ASTM D790 / ISO 178: Analyzing Flexural properties (bending stiffness).
  • Batch-to-Batch Consistency: Ensuring the filament you buy today matches the filament you bought last month.
