Everyday PETG Filament: FAQs

1. Is this PETG filament abrasive?

No. This is an “unfilled” PETG. Unlike carbon fiber or CNT filaments, it contains no abrasive particles. Therefore, it is safe to print with a standard brass nozzle.

2. How is this different from your PLA Everyday filament?

PETG is the tougher, more durable upgrade to PLA. Specifically, it offers significantly better heat resistance (around 80°C) and chemical resistance. However, PLA is generally easier to print and better for fine details. Choose PLA for visual models; choose PETG for functional, mechanical parts.

3. Why are my PETG prints stringy or fuzzy?

This is almost always a moisture issue. In fact, PETG is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air. This moisture turns to steam in the nozzle, causing stringing. To fix this, you must dry the spool at 65°C for at least 4 hours before printing.

4. Do I need an enclosure to print PETG?

No. An enclosure is not required. One of the best features of this PETG filament is its very low warping and shrinkage. As a result, it prints reliably on open-frame printers like an Ender 3, as long as you have a good heated bed.
