ABC3D’s PC/CNT Conductive Filament is an engineering-grade material designed for demanding applications where strength, heat resistance, and static control are critical. This filament is based on strong, rigid, and tough Polycarbonate (PC), renowned for its excellent high-temperature resistance and great dimensional stability for precise parts.
studies on polycarbonate/MWCNT composites have shown that well-dispersed CNT networks can provide fast electrostatic charge dissipation and effective EMI shielding while preserving the mechanical integrity of the polycarbonate matrix (Pande et al., 2014).
By integrating a uniform Carbon Nanotube (CNT) matrix, this PC/CNT Conductive Filament provides reliable ESD-safe properties without compromising the inherent toughness of polycarbonate. It is also free from Styrene and BPA.
To meet your specific technical needs, this filament is available in three grades:
- Antistatic – with a volume resistivity of 10E8 to 10E10 ohm cm.
- Electrostatic Discharge Grade (ESD) – featuring a volume resistivity of 10E4 to 10E6 ohm cm.
- Conductive EMI/RFI Shielding – possessing a volume resistivity of 10E0 to 10E2 ohm cm.

Applications:
- Durable jigs and fixtures for electronics assembly
- Tough, heat-resistant electronic enclosures
- ESD-safe components for industrial machinery
- Dimensionally stable prototypes for form/fit testing
- EMI/RFI shielding for functional parts
- Automotive and aerospace components

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is this PC/CNT filament abrasive?
Yes. The Carbon Nanotube (CNT) content makes this filament abrasive. Consequently, a hardened steel, ruby-tipped, or all-metal nozzle is absolutely required to prevent rapid wear.
2. How difficult is this to print?
This is an advanced material. Because it requires very high bed (100°C+) and nozzle (260°C+) temperatures, a high-performance printer with an all-metal hotend and a heated enclosure is required for success.
3. Why is drying so important for PC?
Polycarbonate (PC) is one of the most hygroscopic (water-absorbing) filaments. Printing even slightly damp PC will cause foaming, stringing, and extremely brittle parts. Therefore, you must dry it at a high temperature (120°C) for several hours immediately before printing.
4. How does PC/CNT compare to ABS/CNT?
PC/CNT offers superior strength, toughness (impact resistance), and a higher heat deflection temperature than ABS/CNT. In short, it is a direct upgrade in mechanical performance, but it is also more difficult to print and requires higher temperatures.
